How do I get started with my projects?

Completed Decking ProjectOnce we receive some basic information and the address of the property, we will schedule an appointment to meet with you to discuss your project in detail. We will need access to the property when we visit.

We may suggest or recommend various construction materials and then provide you with a detailed estimate. Kevel Marine can handle everything from project and architectural drawings, landscape and environmental surveys, permit applications and expediting, plumbing, electrical, boat lifts, etc.

How long does the entire process usually take?

Kevel Marine begins most projects within 1 – 3 months of the initial planning discussion. Our average lead time is 2 months. Permit expeditors can help to speed this process.

Obtaining and preparing surveys and permits typically takes place a few weeks prior to starting construction. While each project is different in complexity, construction is generally completed within 2 – 3 weeks. Estimates include a projected completion date.

How much property will need to be excavated during construction?

BobCat Track LoaderTypically, approximately 20 feet of the property or yard needs to be excavated in order to build a bulkhead structure. In addition to bringing in a barge and/or crane, we also use a Bobcat® Compact Track Loader with a narrow width that will easily get into the backyards of most homes. We take the utmost care to attempt to preserve as much of your existing landscape as possible.

Does Kevel Marine install helical and driven piles as a part of house lift projects?

Since Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Kevel Marine has installed thousands of helical piles for house lifts as part of New York Rising and Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs.

What types of boat lifts do you install?

Kevel Marine installs various types of boat lifts including 4 post / 2 motor, 4 motor, and multi-motor lifts for very large vessels. We also install boat elevators for bulkhead locations, PWC (Personal WaterCraft) lifts and davits. We can install multiple manufactures and typically recommend IMM Quality Boat Lifts®.

Is financing available?

Financing may be available through various banks and financial institutions. Your project may qualify for tax breaks on capital improvements (please consult with a tax professional concerning tax incentives). Our detailed estimate may need to be included with any loan applications.
